Biography:
Seoul 1994, October and of course cold as usual a young girl by the name of Jung Soojung was born. No much was known about her parents, they gave her up for adoption immediately due to the fact she was underweight and said to be sickly. Big, bright eyes stared up at the nurse who took care of her for the first few years of her life.. who knew what would come of it? By the time she was four years old, an American couple with a daughtera dopted Soojung but they did something quite peculiar, they hyphenated her name rather than making her solely go by their last name. They also looked up the meaning of her name, which was Crystal and just added a K to it, so that way they were staying true to her given name.To them, it was important that she knew her roots and where she came from. Once a year, they would go to Korea and experience new things as a family, hoping that it was helping Krystal more than hindering her, because the adoption agency had advised them to actually keep her from Korea for a while. Her sister seemed to enjoy it though and was even trying to learn Korean with every trip. 'Soojungie is very pretty' was her first sentence in Korean, actually.
Seven, eight, nine, ten years old, she didn't think about the fact that her parents had different faces than her. Blonde hair, blue eyes, but at least their skin was fairly the same color. The more kids said things to her though, the more miss Krystal found herself wanting to fit in with her parents and older sister. They tried everything they could to make her knew she was beautiful the way she was, but it seemed like the words of her peers had more weight than the words of her family, which was the case for anyone under twenty years old most of the time. Come high school, she had dyed her hair blonde and wore blue contacts from the time she was in 10th grade right up until she was choosing colleges in the twelfth grade. Many colleges had accepted her, but the one place she felt like she would fit in was at Yonsei University. She'd heard that they had a big international population at the school, so while she would feel like she fit in due to everyone being most likely Asian, she knew she wouldn't be judged or made fun of for having less than great Korean skills. Though thankfully, that improved over time and she eventually became pretty much fluent with a side of 'I don't know how to say this in Korean'.
Rushing, tis the season to be jolly, right? Pretty much. ZTA was a no, DPE was an actual maybe, KD was her very first choice, but in the end she chose to go with SK. And not because she had so much in common with certain sisters, but because she felt at home there, peaceful and happy. Though for the typical SK girl, Krystal came off a little more strict and serious than most, they all knew she had a tender, sweet and soft side about her that wasn't easy to find. Come senior year, she was SK's president and made sure to make the most of it. Cooking, arranging parties, plans, food drives among a number of other things. Soojung was going to make her family proud, no matter what.
